Policies
Policies
- NO ONE IS ALLOWED ON THE POOL DECK, EXCEPT SWIMMERS AND ONLY DURING THEIR PRACTICE TIME. ALL PARENTS AND SIBLINGS MUST STAY ON OR ABOVE BOTH SETS OF STEPS. THE BABY POOL AND WALLS ARE OFF LIMITS. THIS IS FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY!
- SWIMMERS SHOULD NOT BE IN THE POOL AREA MORE THAN 10 MINUTES BEFORE OR AFTER THEIR PRACTICE TIME, UNLESS GIVEN PERMISSION FOR EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES BY THE HEAD COACH, OR IF THEY ARE WITH A PARENT.
Volunteering
- EVERYONE MUST VOLUNTEER! In order for your child to swim in a meet, a parent or responsible person, 15 years or older, must be signed up for a volunteer job at that meet or otherwise available to work the meet if no jobs are available. If you have extenuating circumstances (ex. you have a child under 3 and will not have assistance from another parent or adult at the meet), talk to a team rep about other ways you can help or an exemption. The Volunteer Coordinator will be coordinating volunteers.
- Shifts are 1st half (5:30pm through event #40) and 2nd half (event #41 through the end of the meet)
- The sign up for volunteers will be on our website once the meet schedule is finalized.
*Thank you, in advance, for volunteering! Without parents, a swim meet cannot happen!
Swimmer Rules
- There is NO tolerance for disrespect or misbehavior! Every swimmer is expected to show respect towards coaches, teammates and opposing teams. Discipline is in line with offense ranging from warnings, removal from practice and suspension from the team. The policy ensures everyone will have a safe and FUN experience.
- Everyone’s safety is of the utmost importance and Swim Team Coaches and Reps cannot be responsible for your child’s supervision outside of their practice time and the pool. Please review all safety rules with your swimmer and be sure you know where they are at all times.
Swim Team Prerequisites
The only prerequisite is that your child can swim one length of the pool unassisted. This is for their safety!
Swim team is NOT swim lessons.
There are preseason lessons at many places that will help renew or improve skills. You can also visit the ASA website to search for swim lessons and clinics.
